For over thirty years, the Solidification Course has been the international benchmark for engineers and researchers seeking an advanced understanding of the science of metal solidification.
The upcoming edition, organized by ECOTRE VALENTE in collaboration with the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology of Lausanne (EPFL), will take place from May 31 to June 5, 2026, in Champéry (Switzerland), at the Hotel Suisse, featuring lectures by renowned professors and researchers from leading universities and research centers worldwide.
Main topics
The course, held in English, covers the fundamentals of solidification and their industrial applications:
– Phase diagrams, heat and mass transfer
– Microstructures and defects (porosity, segregation, hot tearing)
– Eutectic and dendritic solidification
– Additive manufacturing and rapid solidification
– Panel discussion on Artificial Intelligence and foundry processes
The program includes lectures, practical exercises, discussions, and networking opportunities with instructors and fellow participants (limited to 40 attendees).
